John M. Anderson has new poems in Crazyhorse, Beloit Poetry Journal, and The Antioch Review, as well as a chapbook, Dictionary Quilt (Pudding House, 2007). In the last two years, he has been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize and once for the Best New Poets anthology; this year, his manuscript, "Blackwater Driveby" was a finalist for the May Swenson Prize.

Kim lives and writes in Boston. Her poetry collection Madonna Magdalene was published by Turning Point books in the fall of 2006. She is the recipient of an AWP Intro Writing Award, a Hambidge Fellowship and an Oregon Individual Artist Grant. A graduate of Reed College, she teaches creative writing at Boston College.

Skye Shirley is a poet studying creative writing at Boston College. She served as the College Representative on the campaign for a Poet Laureate position for the city of Boston and participates in poetry readings in the Greater Boston area. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Perihelion is published three times each year. We are currently accepting unsolicited submissions.

Submissions are via e-mail only. Send two to six poems at a time. We accept simultaneous submissions as long as they are indicated as such and we are notified immediately upon acceptance elsewhere. Your submission should include a brief cover letter with a brief biographical note. Poems should be individually typed either single- or double-spaced, one poem per page. Unsolicited book reviews, essays, and criticism are considered. Please do not send multiple submissions of the same genre, and do not send another submissions until you hear about the first. Additional submissions will be returned unread or disregarded.

How to Submit to Perihelion
—Include “Poetry Submission” or “Review Submission” in the subject line.
—Type or paste your cover letter in the body of the e-mail, and remember to include all contact information.
—Send your work as a single attached Word document, a Rich Text File, or as a PDF* (.doc, .rtf, or .pdf.)

We cannot accommodate revisions after the fact. We do not print previously published work. Translations are welcome if permission has been granted. We cannot be responsible for delay, loss, or damage.

If work is accepted for publication, we will ask for a final electronic version, a brief biographical note for the contributors page, and an optional photograph. All published work will be permanently archived online.
