Survival 2:
Fragment of Alaceus

                           (a woman sings)

                                    I know you Shame

The bleat of a fawn in my breast
his milk-antlers knuckling my heart
it is rage he is trying to express!

as a girl I would’ve known what to do.

birds joined the lake to the town
the peaks trailing vines the spring’s bright sound oh
                                    as a girl

What you give a whore is as good as ballast
                                    lobbed overboard
believe me I’m a whore! foaming like the sea

when you take up with whores
                                    you breathe in gladness
                                    breathe out remorse
